BOOKS I'VE READ IN 2017

It's not a secret that I'm a total bookworm and love snuggling up with a good book and a cuppa tea. So last year around that time I set myself the challenge to read 40 books in 2017, and even though I didn't quite accomplish it, I still think I did a good reading job. In the last 365 days I read over 12400 pages across 37 books - most of them I read in English, but there are also a few which I read in German -  and today I wanna share them all with you - to give you some inspiration for your maybe next read!

LET'S HIKE! #2

Leave the road, take the trails.

According to my blog statistics, it seems like you enjoyed the first "Let's hike!" - post (read here), therefore I decided to do one again this year. Even though I didn't hike as much as I'd wanted to, I still managed to go to a few places which I wanna share with you today.
As always, if you're from around my area, this one may not be that interesting for you, as you'll probably know about all of these places. However, if you're from anywhere else in the world, may I introduce you to the beauty of Styria - the so called "green heart" of Austria ?

SCHLOSSPARK LAXENBURG!

Once upon a time... -that's how fairytales start.
On Sunday I went to the castle grounds in Laxenburg - a small town right outside Vienna. Having seen lots of pictures on Instagram and Facebook of this place before, I knew it was going to be the perfect destination for my autumnal Sunday afternoon 'adventure' :b About 90 minutes later I parked my car in one of the car parks and headed for the entrance.

HAPPIEST WHEN IN NATURE.

Oh wow, it's been a while again. Approximately 80% of my blog posts start with me either saying how long it's been or apologizing for my absence. I honestly don't know why it's so hard for me to blog regularly. But that's not the point now. You know these days when you feel a little sad without anything bad happening? A while ago I had one of these days. Even though I love my lazy Sundays from time to time, not doing anything, being alone got to me that day. Therefore I decided to do something about it the next day. So when I came home after work, I packed my backpack and got into my car - hello Teichalm & hello Sommeralm!

..ANOTHER ONE!

This one has been sitting in my drafts for nearly a year now - an empty post with just a title. To be precise, since last October when I got my third tattoo - the one on my left arm. Maybe you've seen it in one or two of my Instagram pictures, though I never made a big fuss about it. As it's probably the most personal of all my tattoos, I mostly kept it private. So of course, ever since I got said tattoo, people have been asking me "What does it mean?" and mostly I told them to google the Morse code-alphabet and find out for themselves. (cause I knew they'd be too lazy for that) Until today I only opened up to my closest friends about the meaning. Because I never found the right words to describe my thoughts and back-story, but maybe I never will... that's the best I can do & hopefully you'll understand what I'm trying to say.

POSTCARDS FROM SANTORINI - #2 CALDERA & OIA

Hey again! This is the last of my Santorini posts that I'll actually write from here, as I'm currently sitting in the hotel lobby and waiting to be picked up for the airport. Understandably, I'm leaving with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I can't wait to be at home with my loved ones again, but at the other hand it's just so beautiful here and we really enjoyed our vacation. Today however, I wanna tell you more about the trip we took on Wednesday - "Caldera & Sunset in Oia"

POSTCARDS FROM SANTORINI - #1 FIRA

Greetings from Santorini!

And may I tell you, it really is as beautiful here as I'd imagined. I saw so many photos beforehand and oh my word, it really does live up to the expectations. My friend Tanja and I also explored the island a bit, as chilling at the pool and on the beach all week long would've been to boring. So today I'll share with you some of the photos that I took the day before yesterday (Aug 1st) in Fira.

JULY 8TH - TEUFELSTEIN!

Hey there!
'Lately' I have been in a kind of writing slump .. writers block.. whatever you wanna call it. My Madrid Travel Diary is still sitting in my drafts, waiting to be finished - I went to Madrid nearly two months ago... Lately, I just never felt like writing. To be honest, I even considered quitting blogging for good. More and more often I caught myself  thinking "But what for? Nobody's gonna read it anyway."  And maybe that's true, maybe it's not. However, if there's at least one person out there reading this now, it was worth it. And if not, then at least I can look back at it months from now, reading it like an entry in my diary.

Apart from that, I also thought if I blogged about something, it had to be something world-changing. Perhaps, that's not true. Perhaps it can also be something really random - like me telling you about my hike with my mum on Saturday and showing you some of the photos that I took.

H10 PUERTA DE ALCALÁ - HOTEL REVIEW

Hola!
Back home from Madrid I did basically nothing for the first few days except catching up and celebrating my birthday with everybody I left back home. (Thanks btw for all the birthday wishes over on my social media accounts! 😊) And then I already had to go back to work again. Like every time I get back home from vacation, I can't motivate myself to unpack my suitcase and I still haven't finished that task. - Tell me I'm not the only one who takes ages to unpack. Whatever.. at least I found the time and the motivation now to sit down and start telling you everything about the five days I spent in Madrid, starting with the hotel we stayed at - the H10 Puerta de Alcalá

¡Hola! MADRID - OUTFIT

¡Hola! 🇪🇸
I am currently in Madrid, which you probably know, if you follow me on Instagram. As I'm writing this, me and my friend Tanja - who's the one accompanying me on this vacation -  are currently lying in our hotel room for a little while: listening to music, talking, enjoying life. I scream, you scream - we all scream for ice cream. So after finishing this post we're heading out for ice cream, again... Since you haven't heard a peep from me for quite a while on here again (I'm sorry!) - here's this outfit which I wore today for strolling around the city.

CROSLEY EXECUTIVE TURNTABLE

Last christmas (I gave you my heart.. just kidding! 😉) my grandparents got me this babe of an vinyl player. I have wanted one for literally forever, however I probably never would've gotten one myself. Let's put it that way: I desperately wanted one, but still not enough to spend that amount of money on one. - No need to tell me I'm weird. Gladly, as mentioned before, my grandparents were kind enough and got me one. So for those of you who are thinking of purchasing one as well, I thought I'd share my thoughts about it with you.

A WINTER DAY IN HALLSTATT!

Hallstatt has been on my travel bucket list for way too long now, and it it definitely should be on yours too! I did drive by once and stopped somewhere around the lake to take a quick picture, though. But that obviously didn't count. It's probably one of the most photographed towns all around the world and I really get why - it's just so amazingly beautiful. (Nearly) everywhere's a good place to take a picture. On Sunday, I finally went there.. and this time for real. Let me share my photos with you and tell you a bit more.

#THENEWYEAR-TAG.

Loooooong time, no see, huh?
I write that a lot, don't I? Since my last post at the beginning of November (has it really been that long?) I just never felt like just sitting down at my desk with a cuppa tea next to me, like I do now, and write. And even if I did think about it from time to time, I probably was too tired from work. No, I'm not looking for excuses here, it's more like explaining why I was absent for awhile.

Let's kick this new year (yeah, a bit late, but who cares, right?) off with the New Year - Tag. -ENJOY.
