VALUE MAKERS BRUSHES - REVIEW!

As I told you in my first YouTube video, I recently ordered a make-up brush set from Amazon. I have no idea how I stumbled upon these but they look a lot like the Real Techniques Bold Metal brushes which are quite expensive! Of course I read the customer reviews beforehand, but I couldn't find anything that helped me because the opinions varied so much. So I just gave it a shot and ordered them.

The brushes come in a small cloth bag, each one individually wrapped in a plastic jacket. I read beforehand that the brushes may have a strong chemical scent, but that wasn't the case with mine.

First impression? OMG, look at how pretty these are!! I just sat there and stared at them for quite awhile after I opened the package. But not only are they super pretty, they're also suuuper soft! The brush-shafts are made out of plastic, so they're quite light.

As I told you before, the reviews on these varied a lot. Most of the people who ordered these were satisfied, but there were also a few people complaining about hair falling out after cleaning the brushes. To be honest, I was quite 'afraid' to clean the brushes, because they're so pretty and I didn't want to ruin them, but sooner or later I had to. And I have to say that not a single hair fell out of any of these brushes!

the gold ones:
I feel like when it comes to brushes, there is no "ultimate guideline" - you can take whatever brush you like for whatever you like, right? However, I'd say the left one in this picture above is for powder, just because it's so big and fluffy. The right one, I like to use for foundation. You can't see it in this picture, but in some of the ones above, it kind of has the shape of a triangular prism and I feel that this makes it perfect for applying foundation, especially around the nose for example.

the rose gold ones:
The left one here should be for highlighting and the right one for contouring. I however also like to use the left one for setting my under eye concealer. And I also feel like the right one may be slightly too thick for contouring.

the silver ones:
These three are for around the eye. The left one is great for applying eyeshadow, the middle one's for blending, because it's quite big and fluffy. And the right one could be for applying eyeliner or for filling in eyebrows, which is what I'm using it for.

Honestly I don't know if I can recommend these brushes to you - for me everything worked out really well, but it seems like sometimes they may send away brushes who tend to loose a lot of hair whilst cleaning.
